Director of Soccer – Jon Garrard

With over two decades of playing and coaching experience, I am deeply passionate about developing young athletes and creating positive, growth-oriented environments. Originally from Texas and now rooted in Idaho, I’ve dedicated my career to nurturing a love for the game while helping players reach their full potential.

My playing journey began with Lonestar FC and continued through high school and collegiate soccer at the University of Texas. I also had the privilege of competing with the Colorado Springs Stampede. These experiences shaped my understanding of the game and laid the foundation for my coaching career, which began in 2001.

Since then, I’ve worked with youth players across all stages of development, from U9 to U15, with clubs such as Idaho Rush Soccer and Albion SC Idaho. I’ve led program development efforts, including launching new teams, building effective feeder systems, and introducing innovative initiatives like our Elite Player Program and seasonal futsal leagues.

My coaching philosophy is rooted in creating an environment that is fun, challenging, and supportive—where players feel empowered to grow as individuals and teammates. I emphasize technical skill, tactical understanding, and goal-setting while fostering a lifelong passion for the game.

I hold multiple coaching certifications, including licenses from USSF, Coerver, and NSCAA, and I remain committed to continuous learning to better serve my players and teams.
